How do you become friends with someone who has known you for years but you're not sure they like you?

I wrote a question on this site a few days ago that went on for about 100 years but the answers I got made me realize this is something I need to figure out myself. It concerned two girls that are best friends forever I was in love with for completely different reasons. Now, I'm fantastic friends with the second girl but I've never been friends with the first one at all.





The second girl is the best girl friend I've ever had and one of the best friends I know but the first girl I've never known very well. I met her two and half years ago and she probably thought nothing of me back then but a year and a half later I started working at the place she was working at (for different reasons, that was just a bonus) and she got to know who I was and I got to know her better. But I was never friends with her and only recently I feel I'd like to be. The only problem is I'm scared of what she thinks of me because of certain things I've said and done to the second girl or maybe she doesn't like me for any reason. But even though I think she's the most beautiful girl ever, I'd still think she'd be a pretty cool friend. I'd like to be able to start over with her to a point where we didn't know other and try and be friends with her then. I want some advice about how to do it after she's known and possibly gotten a negative perception of me two and a half years later. Ask her out, maybe just for lunch. If she says NO, believe it.
You seem that this girl might think bad about you. As I can figure out seems like you have talked something bad about this girl to the first girl. Some pretty girls go for supper guys, you know. Like the ones who were not in relationship before or maybe she feels something bad about you. But you can be her friend, maybe she did not like the way you used to be in touch with her best friend. Now how can you forget her best friend and think about catching her. Well she is pretty maybe, it does not mean you can feel for her, what if she is into someone? If she is known then there is nothing you can do about it. The best thing to do is be her good friend and show you care. Don't do anything foolish next time.
