Becoming friends with someone outside your ';group';?

I want to be friends with a girl who is a little farther up the social ladder then me. We used to talk a lot during class but now we don't talk as much since we have had our classroom rearranged. She's really funny and I could see us as good friends. But recently she has become ';fast best friends'; with a girl who is kind of annoying to me. I don't know how to approach this situation, but I really want to be friends with her. Any tips, please?Becoming friends with someone outside your ';group';?
You'll realize eventually (usually when you enter college), that this kind of thinking is immature. Who made up this social ladder, and why don't you belong at the top? As far as I'm concerned, all of you middle/high schoolers are ridiculous, so just enjoy yourselves. Hang out with who you want to hang out with, whether they be ';popular'; or ';losers';. Well i was in this exact problem. What i did was approched her and found a best friend. Maybe you can approch her and then you will see that you will become best friends with her friend too. Your friend will make some time for you if she really is a good friend. The one i approched i thought she was very annoying and crazy but i dont regret it because it turns out we are best friends until now and that was years ago. Dont think that she may look annoying or act that way just learn more about her, I hope this helps. If you really want to be friends with her take your chances dont wast it k. Also try to see when she is available she maybe.

Just be yourself and be friends with the people that like you for who you are. Think about it this way she changed classes and became ';fast best friends'; with someone else. What did you think you were? you were just the girl sitting next to her, someone to talk too cause it was convenient. Anyone can fake who they are but only some can be themselves.
