How do you become best friends with someone?

I know this girl and she'd be the perfect best friend. My current best friend is going to another school and inside I think it's good because we have NOTHING and common and she's not the kind of person I can tell my secrets too. The other girl, however is really nice and funny and sweet and we're already friends but I want to become closer. I already have her email address, screen name, and phone number, but I haven't called her because I don't want to invade her.

Just be friends with the girl, get to know her and trust her. Don't go blabbing your secrets to her. A best friend is a person you've known for quite some time and TRUST. That trust and bond takes time to seal. Best friends don't happen over night, but take many years.
Start by either calling her or emailing her (whatever you're more comfortable with and make plans. Find things that you have in common and do them together. Don't make yourself sound desperate however, b/c that can/will actually scare anyone away. Just be yourself and if she likes you, she'll try to get to know you better, too. Good luck!
just ask her to hang out to get the ball rolling . . .dont rush in and start saying ';hey i want you to be my best friend!!!'; take it step by step hang out and talk on the phone kick it then it will eventually happen. (LOL you bogus for dumping your other friend)
Invite her to hang out. Go do something fun that you both like and do some bonding.

It does'nt come in something wanting but it come from the heart and the respect that you contain. then go and tell her what you need!
well spend more time with her talk to her give her a gift if you are afraid to call her ask her when is the best time to talk and sit with her i know that happen to me.

just be yourself... ask her if she wants to go to the movies to look for hot guys there alone too... go to a hang out place in your town. Do you scrap book? tell her your interested and see if she wants to do one too.. and plus the scrap booking is totally fun... good luck!

Meet up w/ you and some of your other girlfriends, and if she enjoys your company as much as you enjoy hers, ..................it will just happen.
