How do i become friends with someone who is shy?

He is really shy, and we only see eachother once a week for not very long at a home school band. Im not shy but it is hard to get him to talk. We talk online but thats not enough. We both want to be friends but were having a hard time and we are both 13. Any advice?How do i become friends with someone who is shy?
This is what you do . Tickle him for some reason shy people love to be tickled it makes them smile and it allows them to open up to you . age doesnt matter if u just want to be his friend. since he's shy and u're not, u should approach him and ask him if he'd ever like to hang out
Usually some one who is shy,will eventually open up to you once you get to know them. Just talk to him when you see him, just don't be loud or obnoxious.
Well i am 13 also and i know what your saying, I would just talk to him more and maybe get his number then you could talk to him more just don't be to ecstatic you migh frighten him.....shakes head... well i hope i helped

slow down girl! if he's talking to you online that's GREAT. Maybe he can call you on the phone once a week. And remember, have as many friends as you can at your age.
since he is shy you would have to be the one to initiate the conversations, just talk to him and try to make him feel comfortable he will eventually come around once he gets to know you better,
just keeping talking to him, the more you talk the more he should open up...I think
