I know there is a lot of talk about how making friends on the net is not good and all but its a great way to meet new people and make friends especially if they are in another country..have you ever become friends with anyone on the net and do you still keep in touch

well not anymore but I once talked to this German guy for years and we'd give each other dating advice and it was just nice having someone to talk to openly and not have to worry about being judged. I actually met my husband on the net as well and totally by accident lol we were both on this shallow site called ratemybody.com for entertainment purposes only and we just happened to stumble past each other and it turned really serious ...he was in Australia and I was in Canada and after talking just for a couple weeks on the phone, web cam and phone he bought a plane ticket to come visit me for a month with an engagement ring ..now we've been married over a year and he's my best friend!! so you just never know!!Have you ever become friends with someone on the net ?
Yes.


I have met some of these friends


and I am very glad that I did because now,


I hangout with them weekly :].


And in a few months I'm meeting a this person


that I have been talking to on the net for the past year.





To be honest, it is a great way to meet people but you must be careful.


There is so many bad people out there sadly.
I hear all the time that its not safe. However, I never give any personal information until I have known a little about the person. If they are genuine about friendship they will be pretty cool...anyways, I made a friend online last year September. We still talk quite a bit today, so as long as you play it safe, you can find someone pretty cool.
not so much friends but people that i've gotten to know by their personalities shown in answers which has been good :) .....and apparently i have too much punctuation again!





anyway back to what i was saying. i think the people that i have encountered have been good, it'd be great to continue 'seeing them' on here :)

yes i have met 1 on the net and actually the person is not that bad.. quite a caring friend. maybe i am consider lucky, the person i met is not a jerk or anyone with the bad intention. but the friendship didnt last because of the different thinking, interest etc. honestly it is still an experience and something consider bold which i have tried for my entire life

When I moved back to the U.S. from Japan (Was stationed in japan for 7 years. Father was in military), played a couple online flash games, about 4 years back. Met a kid who was 2 years younger then me. ( I was 13 at the time lol) We added each other on MSN messenger, and we still talk today about video games and such.





He lives in Canada, I California.





Last time I talked to him was about 20 minutes ago lol.

yes..i have lots of ';friends'; on the net..but only a few have remained ';real friends';..it needs a lot of trust to build this kind of friendship i guess.people on the net can be deceiving and would lie about anything...but gradual talk/chat have made me trust em..we are even talking on the phone..:)
yup i met a good friend on the web, found out she lived just 2 towns over, so def yeah. we talk everyday actually lol usually for a long time... and i never wudda thot i wudda met sum1 that amazing haha
Yeh, like this guy I spoke to msn once. Turned out that his school was 10 mins away from mine. We started hanging out soon after.


I also made friends on my YA contacts, but they live way too far. But we still keep in touch.






I have actually. I met my current roomates over the internet and they are absolutely awesome!!! along with a variety of other people from all over the U.S. and parts of the UK....including my boyfriend who lives in London.
ofcouse.. i have made friends. but we actually dont get topics to talk. thats why we speak the same old ';hi.. how are you,'; and as you guessed it right,we dont spend a lot of time with each other.
i have met ALOT of frends on net but some people arent hu they say they are we all still talk except 4 1?!

i dont regret any of it
